A mechanic for a Carmen-based palm oil company was shot dead allegedly by a work colleague in Sagbayan town on Wednesday night.
The fatality identified as Reynaldo Cenabre, 35, of Barangay Dagnawan, Inabanga was still rushed to a hospital in Clarin but was declared dead on arrival, said Staff Sgt. Antony Vistal of the Sagbayan Police Station.
Cenabre sustained four gunshot wounds across his body.
According to Vistal, Cenabre was ambushed by one Lonnie Cabasag of Sagabayan town following a heated argument between the two who were in a longstanding rift due to personal conflict.
Cenabre and Cabasag were allegedly drunk during the incident which happened after an anniversary celebration of their employing company.
Vistal said that Cabasag left the party ahead of Cenabre but waited at a secluded area in Barangay Canmano, Sagbayan.
He then flagged down Cenabre, who was heading home to Inabanga while driving his motorcycle, and shot him repeatedly.
Lot Gorgonio, 42, who was riding with Cenabre was unharmed as he was able to jump from the motorcycle and flee.
Meanwhile, Cabasag remained at large as he immediately left the scene following the gun attack.
Vistal said that they are continuing their probe on the case and their manhunt operation against the suspect. (A. Doydora)
