A driver for one of the leading bus firms operating in Bohol was allegedly caught in the act of using illegal drugs inside the company’s motorpool in Tagbilaran City.

The incident was immediately reported by Christopher Aguilar, Southern Star Bust Transit, Inc. (SSBTI) maintenance manager, to the Tagbilaran City Police Station on Tuesday.

Aguilar told police that he caught Edren Java, a native of Negros Occidental, sniffing shabu inside the SSBTI compound.

However, Java was not arrested by police due to lack of evidence. He was no longer in possession of the illegal substance when the authorities arrived.

Java meanwhile admitted that he uses illegal drugs “on occasions.”

He was only left with a warning by the police but he is set to face an administrative complaint which may lead to his dismissal from the bus firm. (wm)
