A 21-year-old alleged youth gang leader survived a gun attack carried out by a still unidentified gunman in Jagna on Saturday night.
The victim, identified as John Cespon, a resident of Barangay Can-upao and the alleged leader of the Crips Gang in Jagna, was walking home when he was repeatedly shot by a motorcycle-riding man, said Staff Sgt. Angelito Baugbog of the Jagna Police Station.
Cespon sustained five gunshot wounds in his chin, arm, upper and lower abdomen and leg.
According to Baugbog, Cespon was already in stable condition but had difficulty in speaking to authorities due to the wound in his chin.
He was first taken to a hospital in Jagna but was later referred to the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City for further treatment.
Authorities believed that the attack was gang-related.
Baugbog however noted that Cespon was also a noted drug personality as he previously surrendered through the police’s Oplan Tokhang. (AD)
