Police on Thursday night arrested a security guard for alleged sale of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu during an anti-drug operation in Tagbilaran City.
Anti-narcotics operatives of the Tagbilaran City Police Station allegedly seized shabu worth P122,400 from Ervic Bereber, 27, a native of Barangay Bogo, President Carlos P. Garcia and an employee of the Cordial Security Agency.
In a report, police said that Bereber was collared by members of the Tagbilaran police’s Drug Enforcement Unit after he sold shabu worth P500 to an undercover cop during a buy-bust operation.
According to authorities, Bereber noticed that he was subjected to a staged drug transaction.
He allegedly fled towards his house as he tried to escape from the arresting officers.
Police however cornered him inside his home where they allegedly found his 18-gram drug stash.
Bereber was detained at the Tagbilaran City Police Station lock-up facility pending the filing of illegal drug charges against him. (wm)
