Police recovered illegal drugs and a loose firearm at house in Tagbilaran City on Friday morning.
The contraband items were allegedly found by operatives of the Criminal Investigation And Detection Group (CIDG) as they searched the house of Jonard Baja, 35, in Barangay San Isidro at 6 a.m.
In a report, police said that they carried out the raid after they secured a search warrant issued by Judge Leo Moises Lison, executive presideing judge of the RegionalTrial Court Branch 3 on Thursday.
Authorities applied for the warrant after receiving complaints from Baja’s neighbors on alleged indiscriminate firing of his gun on several occasions.
Meanwhile, the raiding team also found three packets of suspected shabu inside Baja’s residence.
Baja denied owning the seized .38 revolver which was loaded with three live rounds and was allegedly found inside his residence but admitted that the seized drugs were his.
He said that the shabu was for his own personal consumption.
Baja is now under police custody as authorities prepared to file charges against him for violations against Republic Act No. 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Section 11 of Republic 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (wm)
