A 43-year-old man was shot dead in broad daylight by a still unidentified gunman along a busy street in Tagbilaran City on Sunday afternoon.
Police identified the fatality as Jerome Jaluag, a resident of Barangay Dampas, in the city.
In a report, authorities said Jaluag was standing outside a radiator repair shop along J.A. Clarin Street in Barangay Dampas when a motorcycle with two men on board suddenly stopped in front of him.
The passenger alighted from the vehicle then repeatedly shot Jaluag at point blank range at around 3:50 p.m.
Police said the victim sustained gunshot wounds in his head, chest and left arm leading to his instantaneous death.
Scene of the Crime Operatives found two spent 9mm shells at the crime scene and the victim’s mobile phone.
Police investigators have launched a probe on the incident.
Initial information gathered by probers indicated that the shooting may have been drug-related based on testimonies from the victim’s family. (wm)
