The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) is now accepting applications for admission to the premier military institution in the country and the training ground of future officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Lieutenant Colonel Carlito Tiongko Buslon, Command Chaplain of the PMA personally aired the invitation to Boholanos, 17-21 yrs. old on Tuesday, August 16, 2016Â over DYRD “Inyong Alagad”.
Buslon who hails from Barangay Salvador, Sierra Bullones was with two graduating cadets – 1st Class Cadet Dycee Leopoldo from Cabangcalan, Sevilla and 1st Class Cadet Marissa Guisihan of San Vicente, Ubay.
Buslon stressed that being a PMA cadet is a noble privilege in serving the country and spelled out the benefits of a free college education, a monthly salary of P27,000 and a guaranteed job after graduation as an officer of the Air Force, Army and Navy.
Applications will be accepted on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Camp Dagohoy and evaluation of documents on Sunday, 7AM to determine those who will qualify to take the PMA Cadet Qualification Test set at 12PM at the Holy Name University (HNU) campus.
Applicants shall submit their high school transcript of records, certificate of good moral character, single and must be 5 ft. tall.
There are nine Boholanos at the PMA with 1st Cadet Gillian Vimar from Dagohoy who is on a study grant at the Australian Defense Force Academy in Canberra, Australia.
Leopoldo and Guisihan narrated their experiences as cadets at the PMA citing the stringent character development, the exhausting daily grind of a cadet life and the high academic standards that they have to meet.
Leopoldo and Guisihan belongs to Class “Salacnib” 2017 with both aiming to be with the navy. (Chito M. Visarra)
