An alleged notorious thief monitored by Loon police for suspected illegal drugs involvement was gunned down by unidentified suspects in Tagbilaran City on Sunday evening.

According to witnesses, victim Arnold Patanes, a resident of Brgy. Basac Loon, was killed by motorcyclists who rode in tandem along C. Sambit St., Purok 1, Dao District.

Patanes who was on board a motorcycle during the shooting died on the spot from wounds in different parts of his body.

Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered from the crime scene five spent shells from a .45 caliber firearm and one from a 9mm pistol.

Police operatives found in Patanes’ possession a birth certificate which identified the victim.

Tagbilaran authorities confirmed through the Loon police station that the victim was included in the town’s watchlist of drug personalities. (Allen Doydora)
