A man and his 19-year-old nephew allegedly selling illegal drugs inside a pension house along M. Torralba St., Tagbilaran City were arrested on Monday evening in a buy-bust operation.
One of the he suspects, 40-year-old El Javaharlal Cagata, a resident of Brgy. Cogon, Tagbilaran CIty, was reportedly spotted by police as he was conducting suspected drug transactions at the pension house.
Members of the Bohol police Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) immediately set the operation in motion against Cagata who tried to escape arrest.
According to police, the suspect was cornered in his room after he ran and went inside as police operatives were about to arrest him.
In their pursuit of Cagata, the PPSC operatives chanced upon the suspect’s nephew Kheven Baliong, 19, who was allegedly sniffing suspected shabu.
The police poseur-buyer was able to buy a pack of suspected shabu worth P500 from Cagata while the other operatives found six packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia in the suspect’s possession as they frisked him.
According to PPSC chief Supt. Patricio Degay, both suspects are included in their watch list of drug personalities.
He noted that Cagata and Baliong also recently surrendered to Tagbilaran City police for involvement in illegal drug activities.
Both suspects are held at the detention facility of Camp Dagohoy in Tagbilaran City while they await drug charges to be filed against them. (Willy Maestrado) Â
