A self-confessed drug personality was arrested by policemen of the Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) in Antequera on Monday night.
The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Jose Porlares, a resident of Brgy. Bungahan, Antequera, was apprehended through a buy-bust operation conducted at 7:30 p.m. in the said village.
Porlales was immediately collared after he allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to a police posing as a buyer.
Recovered from the suspect were another five packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.
According to the police, the buy-bust was set up after they received a tip on the alleged pusher’s illegal activities
They said that residents of Barangay Bungahan reported to them that Porlales resumed his illegal drug operations.
Senior Insp. Ceasar Acompanado, chief of the Antequera police, noted that the suspect had recently surrendered to town authorities through Oplan Tokhang.
Porlales is now detained at the lock-up jail of the Antequera police station as authorities prepare to file drug charges against him.
He is among the slew of supposed drug “surenderees†across the province who have been arrested due to their continued illegal drug activities.
On Sunday dawn, members of the intelligence section of the Tagbilaran City police arrested Jervis Maslog in a buy-bust operation.
Prior to the arrest, the said police operatives spotted the suspect allegedly selling illegal drugs in Barangay Bool even after he had just recently surrendered to authorities. (Willy Maestrado)
