The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has been on full alert status in the wake of the Davao City bombing which claimed the lives of 14 people and left scores wounded.
City fire marshal Senior Insp. Raul Bustalño told DYRD Balita that they have been directed by the BFP head office to double preparations amid threats of more attacks across the country.
He said that the full force of the BFP in Tagbilaran CIty is on standby in an effort to lessen response time to fires, particularly in crowded areas such as malls, bus terminals, seaport and airport.
The BFP is among government agencies which have been on full alert status since President Rodrigo Duterte declared a state of lawlessness as response to the deadly blast in a bustling night market in Davao City.
Following the declaration, the Philippine National Police have also been on full alert while the Armed Forces of the Philippines are on red alert status.
Their personnel have been directed to set up checkpoints round the clock throughout the Philippines. (Rey Tutas)
