Last of three Trinidad jail escapees yields to AFP in Cebu

The last suspect who remained at large after bolting a Trinidad town detention facility along with two other detainees surrendered to authorities in Cebu on Tuesday.

The escapee, identified as Jason Bayonas, a resident of Brgy. Guinabatan, Trinidad, voluntarily yielded to personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Camp Lapu-Lapu, Lahug, Cebu on Tuesday.

According to Insp. Eraño Regidor, chief of the Trinidad Police, Bayonas’ uncle, a former military official, helped in convincing the suspect to surrender.

On Monday, the two other suspects Reynaldo Sayson and Adelfo Cosino surrendered at the Carcar police station in Cebu province.

The Bohol Provincial Police Office tasked Supt. George Vale, chief of the Provincial Intelligence Branch, to take the three suspects back into Bohol police custody.

The three suspects allegedly escaped from prison by sawing off the metal bars of their detention cell on Sunday morning.

They are all facing drug charges. (Rey Tutas)
