The University of Bohol College of Physical and Occupational Therapy has awarded its 9th placer and passers of the August 2016 PT/OT Licensure Examination during a convocation program held last Thursday at the UB Instructional Research Center, that coincided with the annual celebration of the World Physical Therapy Day which  falls on the same month and day of every year.
During the program, Dr. Myrna L. Plateros, college dean, delivered the welcome address, followed by an inspirational message of UB President Atty. Nuevas T. Montes. On the same occasion, the university president personally handed the certificates and plaque of recognition to new physical therapists Eda Andrea T. Opada (ninth Placer), Jenny Mae C. Alas, Dinamae C. Apalisok, Genevieve P. Cabahug, Mia Karleen A. Gutierrez, Lyka Loraine Ann G. Magdoza, Joana Mae M. Rañin, Jon Marck C. Santiago, and Jeanis P. Tutor. Opada was given an additional cash incentive for placing ninth in the board examination. The giving of cash incentives to placers of board examinations is part of the university tradition.
It may be noted that Batch 2016 established a record in their department when it produced a placer and posted a 90% passing rate.

Belarmino, Pharmacy Dean Felita Torrero, CHMTN Dean Maria Asuncion Laxa-Bersabal, SAO Head Dr. Lemuel Belarmino, Program Chair JelindaFortich, HR Manager Melanie Tirol, Alumni Officer Leo Armando Boncales, faculty members and students of PT/OT department.
As community service, the college has conducted Bantay BP activities at Alturas Mall, Marcela and BQ Mall, and performed Scoliosis screening among high school students of the Victoriano D. Tirol – Advance Learning Center.(labboncales)
