The city government’s seat of power will be moved back in November to the newly renovated Tagbilaran City Hall which was damaged by the earthquake that jolted Bohol in 2013.

This was the pronouncement of City Administrator Edi Borja who said that the facility needs several equipment installations while other office necessities are still being purchased.

Borja told DYRD Balita on Monday that bidding in the purchase of furniture and fixtures is yet to be conducted.

The installation of an air conditioning system which has also recently been started will take around 50 days to complete.

According to Borja, that city government offices would likely be able to start occupying the first floor of the newly renovated city hall in November.

He said that employees assigned to handle business permits and real property tax will be the first to start moving their offices to the facility as the period for the renewal and payment of both nears.

Other city offices will also soon be moved to the refurbished building from the cramped APC facility which currently houses some government workplaces.

Previously, members of the city council have raised questions regarding the delayed transfer of government offices to city hall despite the approval of multi-million supplemental budgets.

The funds included in the said budgets were earmarked for the purchase of necessities at city hall.

Last Friday, the Sangguniang Panlungsod approved on third and final reading a P27.6-million supplemental budget intended for cabling requirements and other needs of the building. (Allen Doydora)
