The Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) assured the public that there are no extrajudicial killings in the province.

According to Supt. Ricky Delilis, BPPO public information officer, their operations against drug personalities are legal and transparent.

Most of the killed drug suspects in the province have allegedly resisted arrest during buy-bust operations and drug raids.

Delilis said that he “welcomes and respects” accusations hurled against the police, including those indicating that they plant evidence during anti-drug operations.

However, the police official challenged those who have raised accusations to file complaints in court.

“Mahirap naman yung lagi nalang nag-aakusa tapos walang mapakita na ebidensya o katibayan,” Delilis added.

Delilis noted that police investigations on deaths involving unidentified suspects, particularly gunmen who rode in tandem.

There have been findings that some of those killed by persons riding in tandem were involved in illegal drug activities.

There have also been speculations that members of vigilante groups are behind the deaths of some drug suspects.

Board Member Elpidio Jala had expressed concern over perceived extrajudicial killings, urging the Provincial Board’s peace and order committee to come up with measures to expedite investigations on the said deaths. (Allen Doydora)
