The economic activity at Jagna had catapulted over the years and alongside its success were the micro-entrepreneurs who actively promoted Jagna’s culture and quality products.
On September 23, 2016, the municipality officially opened its 3rdTabosaJagna, an Agri-Trade Fair and Exhibit which showcases agricultural products from different barangays within the municipality and other entrepreneurs from other parts of the province. The said activity is also in line with its upcoming Foundation Day and Fiesta celebration.
The Department of Labor and Employment has been supporting the livelihood projects of Jagna which are mostly based on food processing. In fact, DOLE-assisted projects in the said municipality were always featured or nominated to represent Bohol and even Region 7 on awarding or recognition ceremonies organized by DOLE.
During the TabosaJagna, various associations were invited to exhibit their products with other commercial and agricultural exhibitors. Associations within the municipality showcased their Calamay, Salabat, Polvoron, Tableya, Longganisa, chips, cookies, and noodles among others. With customers from different places, the said associations did not just show and promote what they’ve got but they were also able to earn money.
In fact, Guidaben’s hometown is Jagna. In line with this, Mayor BicbicAbrenilla expressed his gratitude to the DOLE and to Guidaben for supporting the Jagnaanon micro-entrepreneurs. (Adah)
