A woman drenched in her own blood was almost unidentifiable after she was brutally killed in broad daylight by an unknown suspect who left her sprawled right in the middle of a street at a Buenavista village.
According to PO1 Jestoni Bunaos, the body of the victim, 38-year-old Jocita Dabon, was found near her residence in Brgy. Balaurte on Sunday morning after she was allegedly robbed before killed on the same day.
Buenavista police investigators said that the suspect deeply slit Dabon’s neck cutting her throat open.
Dabon also sustained bolo hack wounds to her head, two on the right side and three on the left, rendering the victim almost unrecognizable, police added.
There were no reported witnesses as police noted that the incident took place in a secluded street that had no houses along it.
Based on initial investigations, Dabon who is a collector for Bohol Electric Cooperative (BOHECO II) had a missing sling bag which contained P200.
Dabon’s family narrated to police that the victim left their home at 8 a.m. to collect payment from BOHECO consumers.
However, Dabon’s family was unable to contact her since then and were only notified of her death.
Police are eyeing robbery as motive in the murder of Dabon as they cited her missing belongings as the suspect’s probable target.
According to Buneavista police, further investigation will be conducted to identify the suspect and motive behind Dabon’s killing. (Allen Doyodra)
