The Tagbilaran City police is currently monitoring suspects in the spate of robberies committed in various villages in the city, a top police official said.
According to Supt. Nicomedes Olaivar, chief of the Tagbilaran City Police Station, cops are following several possible perpetrators of robberies, house break-ins and other crimes in the city.
Olaivar said that some of those being surveilled by the police have formed crime groups mostly comprised of members from various Bohol towns.
Based on intelligence reports, Olaivar noted that former drug pushers have shifted to other criminal activities as the government continues to clamp down on narcotics trade.
Amid the number of theft cases in the city, Olaivar claimed that police have also been arresting robbery and motorcycle theft suspects.
The police official also once again appealed to the public to report suspicious activities and individuals to authorities as the city police station remains undermanned. (Rey Tutas)
