Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr. expressed support in developing the creek from the Bolok-bolok Spring in Brgy. Handig until  Brgy. Asinlag in his former constituency of Maribojoc to attract tourists.

According to Maribojoc Mayor Mer Arocha, the development is among the municipality’s major projects which former town mayor Evasco wants to materialize.

Arocha said that Evasco suggested that a part of the creek should be widened for it to be utilized and generate income for the town by drawing tourists.

Ecasco surveyed the area through an aerial view a few months ago as an initial step to implementing the project which he believes would drive growth in Maribojoc.

According to Arocha, the river is about two kilometres long and would be an ideal place for kayaking and other activities.

The mayor said that the proposed project is only among of Evasco’s plans for his hometown.

The cabinet secretary also wants to have a large swimming pool built around the Punta Cruz Tower which is one of the town’s landmarks, added Arocha. (Allen Doydora)
