National Youth Commission (NYC) Chairperson Aiza Seguerra who visited the province today assured Boholano youth of a participatory governance as their voices will be heard by the government whether in airing complaints or proposing projects.
Segeurra was in town for as the guest of honor during the launching of the “Kilusang Pagbabago, Batan-ong Bol-Anon,†a movement inviting youth to be partners of government, at the University of Bohol Gymnasium in Tagbilaran City earlier today.
The initiative calls for youth in Bohol to be the voice of the government and supporters of the government in battling misconducts such as corruption, criminality and illegal drug activities.
According to Seguerra, the movement cuts across four aspects including anti-graft and corruption, social services, anti-poverty projects and peace and order.
Seguerra also said that the government has allocated sufficient funds to implement projects for the nation’s youth.
With the said funds, the NYC chair expressed optimism that significant projects will be launched under the present administration and not just remain in drawing boards.
She noted that the NYC intends to establish youth development offices across the archipelago to help young Filipinos voice out their concerns.
In accordance with President Rodrigo Duterte’s priorities, the former child star and singer assured that keeping the youth from negative influences and harm will be among the NYC’s priorities. (Allen Doydora)
