The construction of 3,400 houses which will be turned over to victims displaced by the 2013 earthquake have been completed through the Habitat for Humanity Foundation, an official of the organization said.
According to Vicente Delector Jr., Rebuild Bohol Project manager, the said houses are spread across 17 towns which were most affected by the 7.2-magnitude quake.
He said that houses were built in Buenavista, Inabanga, Clarin, Tubigon, Calape, Loon, Sagbayan, Carmen, Danao, Balilihan, Antequera, Catigbian, San Isidro, Sevilla, Cortes, Corella and Maribojoc.
Habitat is set to build a total of 4,536 houses located in 347 barangays of the said towns.
A total of 792 houses are currently under construction while 344 have already been allotted partial materials.
Meanwhile, national program manager of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Conrado Navidad said that over 900 core shelter units have already been constructed by the group and 310 of these were already turned over to beneficiaries.
The Habitat for Humanity Foundation has a total fun of P317,520,000 while the IOM through the Department of Social Welfare and Development has P248,290,000. (Allen Doydora)
