Controversial but multi-awarded policeman SPO1 Adonis Dumpit has again been assigned to Cebu City following a short stint with the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO).
Chief Supt. Noli Taliño, Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 director, ordered the reassignment of Dumpit, 53, who was convicted of homicide six years ago to the Cebu City Police Office (CPPO).
Talño bared that Dumpit’s return to Cebu City was requested by Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak who was appointed deputy mayor for police matters.
Dumpit officially reported to the CPPO on Monday, Taliño said.
The reassigned policeman was the former bodyguard of Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña and is a known sharpshooter.
Dumpit served out a six-year prison term after he was found guilty of homicide for killing a notorious robbery suspect.
He was released from the Leyte Regional Prison in Abuyog, Leyte last May and was assigned to the BPPO in mid-August. (Rey Tutas)Â
