A policeman of the Balilihan Police Station came forward on Friday claiming that the gun confiscated from one of the alleged men of Visayas drug lord Kerwin Espinosa in Bohol was his.
Police Officer 1 Randy Itong personally reported to the Tagbilaran City police that the .45 caliber firearm seized from arrested drug suspect Victor Aguilar was reportedly stolen from him.
Itong found out that his gun ended up with Aguilar through a Facebook post of radio broadcaster Nestor Daarol who featured the gun’s photo and serial number which matched that of his purportedly stolen gun.
However, Aguilar who is a resident of Barangay Sagasa, Balilihan said that he purchased the .45 caliber pistol from one Efren Pablo for P11,000.
Police said that they will conduct further investigation on the development.
On Tuesday, Aguilar along with Marlowe Dano were arrested by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents in a buy-bust operation at a pawnshop in Barangay Dampas, Tagbilaran City.
Both suspects who are believed to be members of a drug syndicate allegedly headed by Espinosa yielded 14 packs of shabu estimated to be worth P300,000 and two .45 caliber pistols, including the one reportedly owned by Itong.
