Alturas will mark another milestone on November 24, as it turns 31 years old celebrating more than two and a half decades of serving the Boholano community.
Mall manager Leo Quicoy announces the 31st Anniversary celebration of Alturas will be highlighted by all-star events sans the prestigious Alturas Drum & Bugle Corps Showdown which was scrapped momentarily by the management this year, in order to pave the way for the celebrity shows scheduled in this year’s anniversary celebration. Gross proceeds of the said events will still go to the usual beneficiaries.
The line up of anniversary activities includes the mall tour of Pilipinas Got Talent 2011 grand winner MarcelitoPomoy and young Star Magic actor/model/singer Kristof Garcia on November 24, Thursday, 5PM, at the 4th Level of Alturas Mall.
On November 25, Friday, 6 PM, is the Alturas Mall Pop Star; while on November 26, Saturday, 8 PM, is the Inter-School Mega Crew Dance Competition 2016, 8 PM, at the Bohol Wisdom School gym. The 15 competing schools are University of Bohol-TC Department, Tagbilaran City Science High School, Holy Cross Academy-Tubigon, Saint Anthony Academy-Batuan, Mater Dei College-Tubigon, San Agustin Institute-Sagbayan, Holy Name University-Mega Crew, PMI-Colleges, BISU-Main, Holy Spirit School, DCPNHS, BIT-IC-Tagbilaran, Christ The King Academy-Antequera, Saint Mary Academy-Guindulman, and Cristal e-College-Panglao.

Halloween party in Bilar
The Bilar Search and Rescue Unit (BISARU), a component of the risk reduction disaster and preparedness program of Mayor Norman Palacio aimed to save lives, will sponsor a fund-raising concert event with Bohol’s premiere party band, CenterStage, at Bilar gymnasium, tomorrow night, Monday, October 31, starting at 8:00 o’ clock.
This was announced by Mr. Luke Sarmiento of BISARU who said the Halloween party will help them generate funds for their worthwhile projects and other programs of the said local search and rescue group, or even upgrade their services more for the people of Bilar.
He added that event organizers are expecting more party-goers and disco fanatics tomorrow as it is a Halloween following a weekend and the long holiday break for everyone to observe the days of the dead, All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, and the on November 4. People are really coming home this week to enjoy the vacation.
According to Mr. Sarmiento, the Halloween Party features one of Bohol’s best and finest party bands which has been in the local music scene for almost 20 years, playing all-time favorite hits from 60s and 70s, disco party music from the 80s, retro, classic ballads, RnB/pop, and hiphop. JVL Pro-Sounds will help provide the sounds and lighting backgrounds.
The Halloween party tickets are now sold at P500 with table, and entrance fee of P50 for male and P30 for female. For reservation and inquiries, just contact Luke Sarmiento at 09178632953 or 09184455093; or to any BISARU members.
It was Mayor Palacio of this town who created what he called Bilar Search and Rescue Unit or BISARU as part of the preparedness scheme in the event of emergency cases in his turf. He formed the BISARU to replicate the TARSIER 117 of the provincial government. BISARU’s main function is to immediately respond to the call of emergency or call for help. This is to avert further damage or injury of the affected than to wait for Tarsier 117 considering its distance.
BISARU is a 24/7 service and always ready. The municipality has employed some personnel and others are volunteers. They are being trained by the Tarsier 117. BISARU is a component of the risk reduction disaster and preparedness program his administration is pursuing to save lives, Mayor Palacio said.
