Operations at Tagbilaran City’s seaport and airport are back to normal following heightened activity on days leading to All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days, at least for now.

Officials of both the airport and pier in the city bared that the flurry of activities subsided and normalcy has been restored after the influx of visitors and homecoming Boholanos started on October 28.

An official of the Philippine Ports Authority said that passengers have likely prepared ahead of time this year unlike in 2015 when the Tagbilaran City port remained busy even on November 1.

However, a burst of activity is once again expected on November 3 when visitors start to leave the province.

Heavy activity at the airport and pier is projected to continue until the end of the week as some homecoming Boholanos usually join the celebration of CPG Day, the birth anniversary of Pres. Carlos P. Garcia on November 4.

With persisting heavy foot traffic at the city’s main entry points, security at the airport and pier would remain tight to prevent lawless elements from disturbing the peace in said areas which will be crowded in the next days.

For his part, P/Insp. Marvin Bolic, chief of the Aviation Security Group said that alert status at the airport remained heightened since the declaration of a state of national emergency early in September. (Allen Doydora)
