A man believed to be an illegal swertres coordinator was shot dead by a lone gunman on Monday afternoon in Sitio Ilaya, Barangay Macaas, Tubigon.

Based on a police report, victim Henry Solomon, a resident of Brgy. Putohan, Tubigon, came out of a cockpit and was about to board a tricycle when the assailant went near him and shot him twice in broad daylight.

The suspect then finished off Solomon with a headshot while he was already sprawled on the ground before fleeing using a motorcycle.

According to PO2 Jasper Reyes, Tubigon police investigator, they are already following a lead on who may have carried out the killing of Solomon.

Reyes told DYRD Balita on Monday morning that they have tagged a man whose identity was not divulged as “person of interest” in the crime.

However, the policeman did not disclose other information on the probable suspect and motive behind the killing so as not jeopardize the ongoing investigation.

For his part, Chief Insp. Almirante Bacayo said that there is no letup in finding the suspect in the killing of Solomon as the police official noted that he is leading the investigation of the crime. (Rey Tutas)
