A man recently cleared of a drug charge was arrested in a buy-bust operation on Friday night in Tagbilaran City.

Police said that suspect Bernard Amboyon, a 40-year-old resident of V.P. Inting St., Poblacion 1, Tagbilaran City was spotted selling illegal drugs.

This prompted operatives to set up the anti-drug operation against Amboyon who was allegedly caught red-handed selling suspected shabu to an undercover cop at 9:45 p.m.

According to police, Amoboyon sold shabu worth P500 to a poseur-buyer resulting in the suspect’s immediate arrest.

SPO4 Yolando Bagotchay, team leader of the arresting anti-narcotics police, said that the suspect surrendered under Oplan Tokhang but continued to sell illegal drugs.

Charges for possession and sale of illegal drugs are set to be filed against the suspect who is currently detained at the lock-up jail of the Tagbilaran City police. (Weli Maestrado)
