A neophyte Provincial Board (PB) member on Thursday expressed optimism over the appointment of Boholano actor Cesar Montano as chief operating officer of the Tourism Promotions Board.

Board Member Alexie Tutor, chair of the PB’s tourism committee, projected that having Montano as head of the marketing arm of the tourism department would boost Bohol’s tourism industry.

Tutor said that she hopes that tourism destinations in Bohol other than the world-renowned Chocolate Hills and white sand beaches would get better promotion under Montano’s watch.

The provincial government through Gov. Edgar Chatto had also extended its congratulations to Montano following the announcement of his appointment on December 6.

Montano, during a phone interview with the Chronicle, had vowed to help Bohol in its tourism programs. (Rey Tutas)
