A self-confessed drug personality who surrendered under Oplan Tokhang was shot dead at 9 p.m. on Wednesday in Barangay Danao, Panglao.
Victim Andrew Estoquia, 27, a resident of Brgy. Looc of said town, was shot by one of two motorcycle-riding men who rode in tandem.
According to police, Estoquia and companion Christopher Tubal, 28, also a resident of Brgy. Looc, were sitting on a parked motorcycle when the suspects who had bonnets on drove by and shot at the victim.
One of four bullets that hit Estoquia reportedly exited his body and hit Tubal causing both to fall to their side.
Residents in the area then alerted the Panglao police immediately after the shooting while Tubal was rushed to a hospital.
Following the incident, the two suspects reportedly fled towards Tagbilaran City.
Responding Panglao police said that they found four spent shells from a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.
The police authorities will be conducting further investigation to identify the motive and suspects in the murder of Estoquia. (Allen Doydora)
