All tourism-related establishments are now required to secure a Tourism Compliance Certificate (TCC) for their businesses according to an ordinance passed by the Provincial Board (PB) last month.

Board Member Kristine Tutor, chair of the PB’s tourism committee, said that the TCC and Child Protection Policy Statement are now a prerequisites for said businesses in acquiring business permits.

Tutor who authored the Tourism Compliance Certificate Ordinance said that payment of P50 is required in obtaining a TCC.

Tourism offices under local governments have been tasked to implement the ordinance, she added.

Businesses covered by the ordinance include hotels, resorts, apartments, tourist inns, pension houses, motels, paid homestays, travel and tour services, MICE facilities and organizers, ecotour operators, health and wellness services, department stores, shopping malls, restaurant, museums, galleries and tourism recreational facilities.
