The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Bohol and the entire Central Visayas are free from rogue policemen, according to CIDG-7 director Supt. Royina Marzan Garma.

Errant police officers of the CIDG-7 have been reassigned and are no longer with the police’s primary investigative arm in the region, said Garma during her Bohol visit on Thursday.

Garma lauded the performance of CIDG Bohol chief Senior Insp. Edwin Lacostales particularly in his efforts to coordinate with local government units and other law enforcement agencies.

The CIDG-7 chief also expressed optimism that the public’s trust in the police will remain after the scandal involving the abduction and murder of South Korean trader Jee Ick-joo inside Camp Crame.

She also urged the public to extend assistance in the Duterte administration’s efforts to clean the ranks of the Philippine National Police.

On Thursday, Garma who was appointed CIDG-7 chief last month visited personnel of the police’s investigative arm in Camp Dagohoy.

She was welcomed and joined by Board Member Ricky Masamayor, chairman of the Provincial Board’s committee on peace and order and public safety. (Rey Tutas)
