After a hiatus, Weesam Express is back in Tagbilaran City with daily trips to Cebu City and vice versa.
According to Vernon Padilla, operations manager of Weesam Express, a ferry line of SRN Seacraft Inc., their vessels will start catering to passengers travelling to and from the Central Visayas cities on Feb. 27.
Newly improved fastcrafts, the Weesam Express 3 and 6, will be used to ply the Tagbilaran-Cebu-Tagbilaran route, said Padilla.
Fastcrafts bound for Cebu City from Tagbilaran City leave at 6:15 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 4 p.m while Cebu City to Tagbilaran City trips are at 8:30 a.m., 1:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.
Economy class tickets will be sold at P350 while tourist and first class seats cost 500 and 600, respectively.
On Wednesday, Weesam Express officials paid a courtesy call on Provincial Administrator Ae Damalerio to formally announce the resumption of the ferry line’s operations in the province’s capital city.
The resumption of Weesam Express trips is initially targeted at catering to passengers going to and from Bohol during the province’s fiesta season in the forthcoming months.
Meanwhile, Padilla assured the public that the fastcrafts plying the Tagbilaran-Cebu route have brand new engines.
In 2011, Weesam Express stopped its operations in Tagbilaran City amid mounting complaints on repeated incidences wherein the fastcraft company’s units experienced engine trouble. (Allen Doydora)
