The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) rolled out two new branches located in two first class municipalities in Bohol that will serve the expanding economies of 23 municipalities of the three districts in the province.

DBP Tubigon Branch opened it’s doors to the public on March 30, 2017 while DBP Ubay Branch was inaugurated the following day, March 31, 2017 with top provincial, municipal and bank officials in attendance. 

The soft opening of both DBP Tubigon and Ubay branches will enhance the bank’s presence in the burgeoning government and private sectors economic growth by providing banking services in support of the growing needs for agricultural and industrial development of Bohol.

The inauguration of DBP Tubigon Branch was honored by the presence of Governor Edgar Chatto together with Tubigon Mayor William Jao, Vice Mayor Virgilio Fortich, Municipal Administrator Engr. Noel Mendana and Delia Lasco, Principal of the Holy Cross Academy.

Also in attendance were Mayors Nelson Yu of Calape, Jacinto Naraga of San Isidro and Sagbayan Mayor Ricardo Suarez.

Staffed with a highly skilled team, DBP Tubigon Branch is headed by Manager Christian Arao-Arao, Operations Officer Maria Lucia Visarra, Cashier Thelma Caverte, Loans and Credit Officer ll Rose Ann Apale, Relationship Officer Neil Mark Mangaron, Sales Associate Charisa Sarsalejo and Service Associate Roselle Mhaeltong.

Bank customers from 10 neighboring municipalities – Tubigon, Calape, Clarin, Inabanga, Getafe, Buenavista, Danao, Carmen, Sagbayan and Batuan will now have convenient and direct access to the new branch located at the Holy Cross Academy Bldg., Poblacion, Tubigon.

The opening of DBP Ubay Branch positioned the bank in the agriculture and marine-rich 1st class municipality in the northeastern part of Bohol with 13 towns under its operational jurisdiction.

Located at the CRU Bldg., Poblacion Ubay, tourism,  farmers tilling a thousand hectares of irrigated rice fields and a new oil depot awaits the services of DBP Ubay Branch that opened with the presence of 3rd District Congressman Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado and Acting Ubay Vice Mayor Joan Balduman.

Branch Head Erzon Gamus, Operations Officer Caroline Lao, Cashier Mary-Ann Gabo, Relationship Officer Aileen Madelo, Service Associate Aileen Opada, Sales Associate Ledie Mae Paigalan and Loans and Credit Officer Vanessa Rose Hopida are the branch officers and staff.

Municipalities covered by DBP Ubay Branch are Ubay, Duero, Guindulman, Candijay, Mabini, Anda,Alicia, President Carlos P. Garcia, Talibon, Bien Unido, Trinidad, San Miguel and Pilar. 

Also present at the opening of the two new branches were Executive Vice President Anthony Robles, Head, Banking Sector, Senior Vice President Jane Gocuan, Head, Sales and Distribution Group and Vice President, Fernando Lagahit, Head, Regional Marketing Center, Central Visayas.

Established on June 8, 1972, DBP Tagbilaran, now classified as a mega branch together with the two newly opened branches is part of the growing number of eight branches serving the Central Visayas region. (Chito M. Visarra)
