Cebu and Bohol-based police authorities confiscated P18 million worth of shabu in an anti-drug operation in Clarin on Saturday.
The drug haul is the largest seized in a single operation in Bohol since the Duterte administration launched its anti-drug campaign in July last year.
According to police, three kilos of suspected shabu were seized from Teofilo “Tamjun” Tampus, a 47-year-old resident of Sitio Kalubihan, Barangay Nahawan, Clarin.
The suspect was arrested through a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG) 7 led by Sr. Insp. Ricardo Tero and the Clarin police led by Insp. Fernando Peroramas.
According to the Clarin police, Tampus was caught in the act of selling shabu worth P500.
However, the suspect was initially able to evade arrest as he ran towards his residence.
Police then rushed after Tampus and eventually cornered the suspect inside his house where three large packs of shabu were allegedly found.
Authorities said that Tampus had previously surrendered under Oplan Tokhang. (Allen Doydora)
