A 21-year-old man who has been tagged by authorities as one of the biggest drug suppliers in Tagbilaran City was arrested by intelligence officers of the Bohol police on Tuesday evening.
Suspect Joseph Ocon, a resident of Tamblot St., Tagbilaran City, was allegedly caught selling illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation conducted by police operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) at 10:15 p.m.
According to Police Senior Insp. Jojit Mananquil of the PIB, the suspect is listed in their drug watch list as one of the biggest drug suppliers in Tagbilaran City.
Ocon’s operations also reached neighboring towns, added Mananquil.
The operation against the alleged big-time drug personality was set in motion after three suspected pushers arrested hours prior to the drug bust tagged Ocon as their source.
At 3:45 p.m. on the same day, Tagbilaran City Police Station (TCPS) arrested live-in partners Preacher Matildo, 27 and Joan Lomotos, 24, both residents of Barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City.
According to Sr. Insp. Erano Regidor of the TCPS, both suspects have been monitored to be involved in illegal drug operations in the area prompting operatives to set the buy-bust.
Following the arrests, the operatives then launched another sting operation. This time, it was carried out along Ma. Clara Street, Barangay Cogon against Arnelito Barro, 32.
Barro, a native of Sevilla towm, was tagged by Matildo and Lomotos as a drug dealer.
All four suspects have been detained pending the filing of charges against them. (Weli Maestrado)
