Over three kilograms of shabu with DDB (Dangerous Drug Board) value of P37.4 million were confiscated by police from March to May 25 this year, according to the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO).
Based on the BPPO data released Tuesday, P35.6 million worth of shabu in the three-month drug haul were confiscated from just one man, Teofilo Tampus who was arrested in Clarin on May 6.
The data also indicated that other than the drugs from Tampus, only P700,000 worth of shabu were confiscated from other suspects during the first 25 days of May.
Of the said figure, P538,000 was from Tampus’ son, Jonathan who was nabbed a day before his father’s arrest.
Drug seizures in 25 days last month were a result of 23 police operations, the data added.
In the previous months, P791,426 and P411,820 worth of drugs were confiscated by the BPPO in March and April, respectively.
The illegal drugs were gathered by police through 64 anti-drug operations.
Meanwhile, a total of 112 persons were arrested during the same three-month period.
Fifty-nine, 19 and 34 were nabbed in March, April and May, respectively, according to the BPPO data.
A total of 163 cases have been filed against the arrested drug suspects, it added.
Also from March to May 25, 60 people were arrested through 40 police operations for suspected involvement in illegal gambling.
Most of the suspects were allegedly involved in illegal numbers game Swertres, police said. (RT)
