Around 330,000 students are expected to flock to schools in the province on Monday as classes resume while the Department of Education (DepEd) on Friday declared its readiness for the deluge of enrollees.

Provincial Schools Division Supt. Dr. Wilfreda Bongalos said that 195,000 elementary pupils and 95,000 high school and 40,000 senior high school students were enrolled for the upcoming schoolyear.

According to Bongalos, they have started to hire teaching staff as the DepEd in Bohol is in need of 804 more teachers.

One hundred, 221 and 483 teachers are needed for elementary, junior high school and senior high school, respectively, she added.

Meanwhile, only 13 of the 129 school buildings constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways have not yet been completed, Bongalos noted.

The still under construction buildings in the first district are being built at the San Roque National High School in  Albur, Pamilacan National High School in Baclayon, Biking Technical Vocational High School and Dauis National High School in Dauis, Congressman Pablo Malasarte Memorial High School in Balilihan, Canlaas High School in Antequera, Pagnitoan National High School in Maribojoc and Lourdes National High School sa Panglao.

While in the second district, two buildings are still being constructed inside the Hingotanan National High School in Bien Unido and one at the San Jose National High School.

In the third district, the Valencia National High School in Valencia, Pilar Technical Vocational School in Pilar and San Roque National High School in Mabini still also have unfinished school structures. (Rey Tutas)
