A motorcycle-riding teenager was killed after he slammed straight into an incoming passenger bus in Bilar at past 7 a.m. on Tuesday.
Victim Ferfilkieth Garay Jr., 19, who was a resident of Barangay Villa Limpia, Loay died on the spot, police said.
According to the Biliar Police Station, the incident happened at a national road cutting across Barangay Villa Aurora in Bilar.
Garay was reportedly headed home towards Loay while the Rimon Trans bus was moving further up into Bilar.
Based on initial police investigation, the victim was unable to control his motorcycle after making a sharp turn causing him to collide head on with the bus.
Garay was reportedly under the influence of alcohol during the incident, as narrated by his friends who he had a drinking spree with until the early hours of Tuesday.
The fatality’s drinking companions claimed to have stopped Garay from driving home but he reportedly insisted on taking his motorcycle.
Authorities said that Garay had no driver’s license in his possession during the accident.
Meanwhile, the bus’s driver was taken into police custody while the victim’s family and the bus company’s administration are reportedly arranging a settlement. (Allen Doydora)
