A 28-year-old man suspected of leading a street gang was arrested by police after he was allegedly caught in the act of selling illegal drugs in Dauis on Friday evening.
Suspect Eric Pahamtang, a high school student, was collared in a drug buy-bust operation wherein he allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to police poseur-buyer.
In a report, police indicated that he was also caught in possession of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
According to Senior Insp. Gerard Luna, chief of the Dauis Police Station, the sting operation was launched after the principal of Pahamtang’s high school reported the suspect’s gang activities.
Several students of the school have already been recruited into Pahamtang’s gang, said Luna based on the school official’s statement.
Pahamtang, a resident of Purok 3, Barangay Tabalong, Dauis, previously surrendered under Oplan Tokhang pledging to end involvement in illegal drug activities.
However, police through monitoring operations found out that the suspect continued to sell illegal drugs, Luna added.
The suspect is now detained at the Dauis lock-up jail while charges for sale and possession of illegal drugs are set to be filed against him. (Weli Maestrado)
