The Bohol Electric Cooperative (BOHECO) 1 on Thursday said that it will not be able to provide a definite schedule on rotational brownouts in its service area amid continued power rationing throughout Bohol.

According to Gerry Batausa of BOHECO 1, power reserves harnessed from the Hanapol Hydropower Plant and Sevilla Power Plant continued to fluctuate in supply making it “difficult” to craft a rationing schedule.

“Mag-base ra mi sa tubig na mo-sud sa dam. Kung daghan og tubig, dako-dako pud og supply mahatag. Pero kung wa, mo-reduce pud atong load,” said Batausa.

The BOHECO 1 would also then have to allocate the minimal power supply drawn from the dam to its various feeders and ensure that each town serviced by the electric cooperative gets its share of electricity, he added.

In some days the BOHOECO 1 implemented a 6-hour power rotation but on instances of low power supply, the rationing period dropped down to two hours.

Batausa also noted that continued rains would increase water level and ultimately raise power supply.

Towns covered by BOHECO 1 include Albur, Antequera, Baclayon, Balilihan, Batuan, Bilar, Calape,Carmen, Catigbian , Clarin, Corella, Cortes Dauis, Dimiao, Inabanga, Lila, Loay, Loboc, Loon, Maribojoc, Panglao, Sagbayan, San Isidro, Sevilla, Sikatuna ug Tubigon.

Meanwhile, municipalities serviced by BOHECO II continued to remain without any electricity allocation from currently running small power plants in Bohol.

Previously, Jun Melencion of BOHECO II said that those who own generator sets have been solely dependent on the devices for power while the rest of the residents are without access to electricity.

“Sukad sa pagkapalong  sa atong suga diri, wala pa g’yod nakabalik until now,” said Engr. Jun Melencion of BOHECO II.

Other than the two hydropower plants, the 12-MW Bohol Diesel Power Plant has also been operating and providing power supply in Tagbilaran City. (Allen Doydora)
