The newly appointed director of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 is set to arrive in Bohol tomorrow for the first time as the highest ranking police official in Central Visayas.

Chief Supt. Jose Mario Espino will be conducting a command visit and conference which will be attended by the 48 chiefs of police in the province.

The official police function will be held at the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) headquarters in Camp Dagohoy.

Espino is expected to arrive at the Tagbilaran City pier tomorrow morning with Bohol police officials including BPPO director Sr. Supt. Felipe Natividad to welcome the police official, according to a statement released by Camp Dagohoy.

The PRO-7 chief will also pay a courtesy visit to Gov. Edgar Chatto.

As indicated in the BPPO’s schedule of activities, Espino will be attending the Community Service-Oriented Policing (CSOP) program which will be participated by the chiefs of police in various Bohol towns.

Non-commissioned police officers will also be attending the event which will be conducted by the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM).

The CSOP was created to improve the police’s capability to urge local executives and the public to contribute in the campaign against criminality.

NAPOLCOM intended the program to improve the police’s role as a community service-oriented agency.

On July 17, Espino took over as the director of the PRO-7.

He replaced Chief Supt. Noli Taliño who was reassigned as director of the Human Resource and Doctrine Development at the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame in Quezon City. (RT)
