UBAY – It took 19 years for the Sto. Niño Parish to have another priest. This came following the ordination yesterday of Rev. Fr. Enrico Sumayo Cortes. The last priest ordained under this same parish was on May 18, 1996 with Rev. Fr. Serelle Timoteo Ellorimo Reyes.
Most Reverend Patrick Daniel Y. Pareon, D.D., Bishop of Talibon was the Ordaining Prelate. Also ordained in the same rites at the Blessed Trinity Cathedral was Rev. Fr. Jude Marvin Caberte Gumapac of Carmen, Bohol.
This marked the second ordination officiated by Msgr. Parcon when he assumed second bishop of the Diocese of the Blessed Trinity. The first to be ordained sometime last year was Rev. Fr. Pablo Omamalin also of Carmen, Bohol.
Fr. Cortes is the son of the late Fortunato Cortes and Teresa Sumayo. He earned his elementary education at the Ubay Central Elem. The new priest first enrolled at St. Camillus College in Metro Manila and completed his Theology course at the Seminario Mayor de San Carlos in Mabolo, Cebu City. Rev. Fr.
