A man listed as the lone entry in the Corella Police Station’s drug watch list was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation on Saturday evening.
Cortes police chief Sr. Insp. Joseph Lopena identified the suspect as Mark Tubaon, a 24-year-old resident of Barangay Cancatag in the said town.
Tubaon was arrested in a drug buy-bust led by Lopena after residents reported to police where the suspect frequently sold illegal drugs.
Police operatives allegedly then spotted Tubaon selling shabu based on the residents’ report prompting them to set a sting operation against him.
According to Lopena, Tubaon was immediately collared after he sold shabu worth P500 to a police poseur-buyer.
Two more sachets of shabu with an estimated weight of 1.3 grams were also confiscated from Tubaon upon his arrest, Lopena added.
The suspect is now under Cortes police custody pending the filing of drug charges against him. (Weli Maestrado)
