A suspected drug dealer alleged of previously selling shabu to students in Ubay was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in the said town at 4 p.m. on Monday.
Ubay police chief Sr. Insp. Desiree Lavisto identified the nabbed suspect as Jhon Wlfred Duetes, a resident of Barangay Tapon in the municipality.
Duetes was subjected to a sting operation and was allegedly caught in the act of selling shabu worth P500 to a police poseur-buyer.
He was also reportedly in possession of three other packets of shabu worth P3,000.
According Lavisto, the operation against Duetes was set in motion after he allegedly sold shabu to students last month.
The said students were arrested by police after they were caught engaging in a pot session inside a cemetery, said Lavisto.
Upon the investigation, the suspects then pinpointed Duetes as their drug dealer, he added.
This prompted the police to conduct a validation on the tip leading them to find out that Duetes who previously surrendered under Oplan Tokhang resumed his illegal drug business.
Duetes is detained at the Ubay police lock-up jail pending the filing of drug charges against him.
He is the 16th drug dealer arrested by the Ubay police this year, said Lavisto. (Allen Doydora)
