A man believed to have been drunk was killed after he figured in an accident while driving a motorcycle along a road in the town of Dauis on Wednesday.
Authorities identified the victim as Marmel Amaya, a 26-year-old resident of Barangay Bingag of the said town.
Based on initial police investigation, Amaya was driving from Panglao where he attended a party when he figured in the fatal accident at around 11 p.m. .
Upon reaching the national road in Barangay Bingag, Amaya suddenly lost control of his motorcycle causing him to crash, police said.
The impact reportedly caused Amaya’s body to be thrown several meters away to a rocky portion of the road.
According to authorities, the victim was still taken to a hospital but he later on succumbed to his injuries.
He suffered multiple injuries including bumps on his head which led to his death. (AD)
