Two men had their cellphones snatched in separate incidents in Tagbilaran City earlier this week, adding to the spate of recorded theft cases in the province’s capital in the past weeks.
Police have yet to identify the suspects but both incidents were recorded through closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras.
Based on one of the pieces of footage, the cellphone of one Steven Grava, an 18-year-old student of the University of Bohol was swiped by a minor at around 7:30 p.m.

Grava told police that he was studying at El Boy’s Internet Café along Maria Clara Street in Poblacion 2 when the incident happened.
The victim’s Iphone 5S was reportedly being charged when it was stolen.
On Thursday, one Michael Bayron, 24, also had his cellphone stolen after he left it on his motorcycle.
According to Bayron, he parked his motorcycle near his home after taking his daughter to school but accidentally left his Samsung J7 on the vehicle.
When he returned to get the gadget, it was already missing, he told police.
A CCTV footage taken near the crime scene showed that a still unidentified man took the mobile device.
Earlier this week, a man identified as Joselito Tuban, a 34-year-old employee of the Island City Mall, reported to police that his red XRM-125 motorcycle with plate bumber 7J 8546 was stolen.
In his report filed before the police, Tuban said that he reported for work at around 11 a.m. but his motorcycle was already missing at his parking spot when he was about to go home.
Personnel of the Tagbilaran City police’s theft and robbery section have been tasked to conduct follow-up investigations on the alleged “motornapping” incident and the theft of the two cellphones. (Weli Maestrado)
