Fastcraft Ocean Jet has cancelled its trips from Tagbilaran City to Dumaguete City, and vice versa, due to strong waves amid the continued presence of typhoon Paolo east of the country.
Gene Lastimodo operations manager of Ocean Jet this morning said that the captain of Ocean Jet 168, while mid-sea, contacted him and informed him on the harsh weather conditions.
This prompted the fastcraft’s administrators to cancel trips from Tagbilaran City to Dumaguete City at 9:50 a.m., and back at 12:10 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Tagbilaran-Cebu-Tagbilaran route is back to normal after several trips were suspended Wednesday also due to stong currents.
Other vessels had also cancelled trips yesterday but operations were reverted back to normal today.
So far, no warning has been hoisted by the state weather bureau over the Central Visayas as trip cancellations were solely ordered by shipping firms. (Allen Doydora)
