A wanted man on Monday night was arrested almost seven years after allegedly committing sexual abuse against a 17-year-old girl.
In a report, police said that they spotted Ronald Cruda, 31, of Barangay Manga in Tagbilaran CIty, near his home while conducting an Oplan Tracker operation.
The Tagbilaran City police warrant section led by SPO2 Jolito Odvina then immediately made the arrest upon recognizing the suspect.
According to Odvina, the warrant of arrest against Cruda was issued in 2011 by Judge Leo Moises Lison, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 3.
The crime was allegedly committed in Barangay Manga in 2010.
Cruda, however, claimed that the case has been settled with the victim who is now 23 years old and is already married.
He also alleged that he was with two other suspects during the incident and that he merely “followed their lead.”
Cruda is now detained at the Tagbilaran City lock-up jail while he is set to face the sexual abuse case filed against him. (WM)
