The Bohol Provincial Board (PB) on Friday approved on first reading the proposed P2.9 billion provincial budget for 2017.
PB members led by acting presiding officer Board Member Kristine Alexie Tutor approved the budget which was filed through a bill authored by Board Member Abeleon Damalerio, chair of the PB’s committee on finance.

The PB reviewed the proposed budget after Governor Edgar Chatto submitted a letter notifying the board members of the successful series of budget hearings conducted by the various offices of the Capitol.

The hearings included officials of the 10 hospitals across Bohol that are under the administration of the provincial government.
After the annual budget’s approval on first reading, it was submitted to the PB’s committees on finance and budget and appropriations for further review.
Last year, the SP approved the provincial government’s proposed P2.3 billion budget for this 2017. (rt)
