In the rising trend of drug runners getting liquidated in a vigilante style, another one bites the dust in the latest score in Getafe.

The 34-year-old victim, Lloyd Gian Franco Paredes, was shot in close range by riding in tandem, using a high-caliber short handgun on Thursday evening last week in barangay Tugas, Getafe.

He died right then from fatal gunshot wounds.

According to reports, Paredes was a native of Canapnapan, Corella town, but had a standing search warrant in another town.

His buddy, John Paul Labor, also sustained a gunshot wound in the face and is still recuperating in the hospital.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered a .38 caliber revolver with four bullets from the victim’s body; and nine empty shells of .45 caliber pistol from the crime scene.

The recent killings of personalities tagged in crimes fueled the theory that the rising criminalities in the province, mostly related to drugs, inspired a vigilante to trim down the menace.

Just on August 26, a 16-year-old minor, Steve Bulatete, resident of Hontanosas Extension in Poblacion 3, this city was shot and the motive in the killing had been suspected to be related to his involvement in robberies.

In several earlier cases, most of the victims of shooting incidents turned out to be drug runners.

Another victim of drug-related shooting incident was one Dominador Arcales Jr.—also known as “Jay-R”, a 23-year-old resident of barangay Bacani, Clarin, who was shot dead at around 8 p.m. on August 16 in Clarin.

His 63-year-old father, Dominador Arcales—who had been in the police watchlist of drug personalities—was also shot dead in Sagbayan while on his way home to Clarin on September 10.

Another suspected drug personality, 33-year-old Rolando Insila, was also shot dead by riding in tandem at past midnight on August 21 in Talibon.
